Introducing Oyster’s MBFWA 2016 squad

MBFWA 2016 is almost upon us, and while the good people of Carriageworks dust off the red carpet, and sequins, flowers and diamonds sell out across Sydney, a team of talented heroes gathers in the background. This year, in partnership with Mercedes-Benz, we’ll be sending five little legends along to fashion week to bring you their most treasured moments and most precious memories from each day.

Meet the gals who are about to tear it up on the runways at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia come May. It is going to be huge: Toni Maticevski is opening the week, Dion Lee returns home, and Oyster faves Romance Was Born, Emma Mulholland and Georgia Alice will all be doing their thing.

It’s true that every year has stand-out model talent, but it’s the newbies — walking their first runways ever this year — who you should get to know immediately. Cop their sweet drawing skills and great life goals below.

MBFWA Diaries: All The Glitter As Shot By James J Robinson

Oyster’s mate and handy camera man James J Robinson went deep into MBFWA this week to capture all the frenzy/fun times both #BTS and at of some our fave designer’s shows. Evidence would suggest that things over at Tome, Christopher Esber, Romance Was Born and Emma Mulholland took it to a way more glittery place than a Mariah Carey concert, which is def saying something.

Fash week might be over for the year, but the fond memories will live on in our hearts and the above gallery forever. Check it out!

Our girl Freya Esders has captured some evidence of just how relaxed things were during her backstage and on-site hangs this week. Her video vibe piece features chill times with models like Astrid Holler, Ruby Jean Wilson and Raenee Sydney, and a pre-show look at Karla Spetic. Feel the zen below.

Oyster TV: Meet The Models Who Won Fashion Week By James J Robinson

As MBFWA comes to an end for another year it’s time to sit down and reflect on all the good times, good looks and good people that we had saw and met. After consuming a million bottles of San Pellegrino, and observing a million strong road looks (aka street style), it’s the four new BFFs we made that’ll stay with us for actual ever.

Good guy James Robinson documented the week through the eyes of our new pals, Gwen Lu, Lily Nova, Mary Akech and Raenee Sydney, so that you might have the pleasure of meeting them too. Get to know the gang below <3.
